Intended Learners

This activity is designed for family practice physicians and other healthcare professionals who care for patients with human papillomavirus (HPV) infections and associated diseases and who administer HPV vaccines.

Learning Objectives

  • Apply guidelines for administering prophylactic HPV vaccines to male and female patients and counsel patients and parents appropriately about these vaccines
  • Interpret recently updated guidelines to appropriately screen women for cervical cancer and explain rationale for screening intervals to patients
  • Provide education to patients regarding HPV infection and transmission, its risks, and impact on clinical and psychosocial outcomes

Activity Overview

This satellite symposium will occur 6:30pm – 8:30pm. A faculty question-and-answer session will follow the presentations.

Accreditation

This live activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals. The Association of Reproductive Health Professionals is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CME

ASHA designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. To be eligible for documentation of credit, participants must attend the full activity and submit a completed evaluation form. Participants who submit a completed evaluation will receive documentation of credit within 8 weeks.

AAFP

Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending.
