ASHA Announces New Interim President and CEO

Dear Friends of ASHA,

We are pleased to share that Rebecca (Becca) Karpinski has been selected as the Interim President and CEO of ASHA. Becca brings a strong vision and deep commitment to our mission, and she will partner with our board, staff, sector experts, and consumers to guide ASHA during this important time.

Becca is known for her ability to bring diverse voices together and create innovative approaches that respond to people’s needs in changing environments.

Becca Karpinski

After 22+ years at Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest, many of you may also recognize her work on initiatives such as Sex Ed To-Go, as well as her success in forging collaboration with groups that historically worked apart. These experiences will be invaluable as we work together to shape a sustainable future for ASHA and define our unique role in advancing healthy sexuality.

Her prior success in tackling long-standing barriers, from stigma to reproductive health disparities will help ASHA continue to evolve its services to meet the needs of those we serve. With her background in interim leadership and guiding complex initiatives, Becca is well prepared to stabilize operations, strengthen partnerships, and support the transition to ASHA’s next permanent CEO.

As we welcome new leadership, we also pause to honor Lynn’s extraordinary legacy. Her unwavering commitment to ASHA’s mission has reshaped what is possible in this field. Lynn didn’t simply lead this organization; she opened doors, broke silence, and created space for conversations. Though her era ends, her influence will continue to guide our work. In every person who speaks with confidence about their sexual health, in every policy that protects access, and in every partnership built across divides, Lynn’s vision lives on. Her impact on sexual health in this nation will far outlast her tenure, and we are all stronger for having walked this path beside her. We wish Lynn the best in her retirement.

Please join us in welcoming Becca to ASHA. Please reach out with your congratulations, questions and thoughts to Becca via email. Becca’s first official day will be November 1. We look forward to working with her and with all of you as we continue this important work together.
