Patient Education Campaigns and Toolkits

ASHA has developed resources to help health care providers educate their patients and promote sexual health care. We have three campaigns that offer you content and messages that you can easily customize and distribute, both at your clinic and across social media.

Your Heath is Your Power

  • The Health Is Power toolkit is designed for organizations to promote sexual health among young African American men (ages 18-30) through a multi-phased campaign. The downloadable toolkit includes customizable posters and postcards, social media content, web banners and sample “Drop-in” website articles.

YES Means TEST

  • The YES Means TEST campaign aims to reduce the stigma around STD tests, with a specific focus on promoting recommended chlamydia screening in young women under 25. The approach of YES Means TEST is to make the STD conversation NBD (or no big deal) in a way that is authentic and engaging to teens and young adults. Campaign materials can be found on the website of the National Chlamydia Coalition, which also offers resources on improving chlamydia screening rates through an opt-out screening strategy.

The One-Two Punch

  • Finally, the One-Two Punch: Knocking Out HIV and Syphilis Co-infection initiative is designed to educate North Carolinians about the state’s higher risk for HIV and syphilis and the need to talk with health care professionals about testing for both infections. The campaign posters and video are free to download and use on your websites and social media platforms.
