While ASHA celebrates STI Awareness all month long in April, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) concentrates its efforts on STI Awareness Week. This year, STI Awareness Week takes place on April 13-19. It’s an excellent opportunity to check out resources that can improve patient care at your practice.
A great place to start is with a theme CDC’s Talk, Test, Treat resources for health care providers. ASHA has also created a resource for providers on the Talk, Test, Treat theme, with multiple links for provider-focused content and free educational materials for your patients.
ASHA believes that all people have the right to the information and services that will help them to have optimum sexual health. We envision a time when stigma is no longer associated with sexual health and our nation is united in its belief that sexuality is a normal, healthy, and positive aspect of human life.
